Driver Spotlight – Chris Bloom

This week’s STPC Driver Spotlight brings us to the southeastern suburbs of the twin cities. Farmington, Minnesota’s own Chris Bloom is one of the veteran sim racers here at the Short Track Pro Cup.

With sim racing experience that dates back to NASCAR 99, 2002 and 2003 season, Chris has seen his share of online sim racing. When asked what his greatest achievement was, he instantly points to a “lower division offline championship” that was part of the 1997/1998 or 1999 Papy software. But those were in his college days, who can remember that far back?

Chris found iRacing in June ’09, and has been at it ever since. Other than spending time here at the Short Track Pro Cup, Chris enjoys pool, poker and fixing his house. As any home owner understands, Chris will tell you that “nobody ever tells you the money-put you’re getting into until you buy the place.” Chris is also planning a wedding for August! Congratulations Chris!

When asked what he thinks of STPC, Chris will tell you that “it was a fun first season here at STPC. I owe a bunch of thanks to the Sportsman guys for setup help and driving tips. The Premier guys are a great bunch too. It’s great they are willing to share setups and advise. Looking forward to my 2nd season. For now, I am taking my talents, or lack thereof, to the (Development) division.”
